About me

Mariana Amorim Fraga is a professor and researcher at Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie, affiliated with the Graduate Programs in Electrical Engineering and in Production Engineering. She leads the Research Group on Sensors and Photovoltaic Devices, focusing on semiconductor thin films, MEMS sensors, IoT systems, and energy technologies for smart cities and sustainable applications.

Mariana Amorim Fraga holds a PhD in Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering from ITA (2009) and an MSc in Electrical Engineering from USP (2005). She is a professor at Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie in the Graduate Programs in Electrical and Production Engineering. She leads the Research Group on Sensors and Photovoltaic Devices. An IEEE Senior Member, she is active in advancing women in STEM as WIE Chair of the IEEE Sensors and Systems Joint Chapter South Brazil and member of the IEEE Women in Electron Devices Society committee. She serves on multiple international editorial boards and has organized and edited several scientific books. Her research areas include microelectronics, materials science and energy technologies. She teaches Electronics to undergraduate students in Electrical, Computer, and Mechatronics Engineering. She leads the MackChip semiconductor design initiative and coordinates an integrative project on portable solar panels. Mariana also organizes events such as the Mackenzie Sensor School and the IEEE Women in Sensors Day, fostering innovation, hands-on learning, and diversity in STEM while advancing research on semiconductor thin films, MEMS sensors, and IoT systems.
