This grant funds my PhD studies in the UK.
My PhD is a multidisciplinary research using animal models and techniques in Food Technology, Food/Medical Microbiology and Molecular Biology to investigate the effects of a type of processed food (RUTF) often used as a treatment intervention in malnourished children; emphasis on gut health (microbiome studies) and linear growth using a selection of Omics techniques - metabolomics, transcriptomics, proteomics.

A highly competitive grant that promotes research opportunities for researchers in the UK and Israel. A knowledge exchange scheme of sorts that allows researchers from both countries spend some time (6 - 12 months maximum duration) in the other country doing experiments.
With this grant, I am a Visiting Research Fellow (VRF) conducting some animal model (Sprague Dawley Albino Rats) experiments and Bone study analyses at The Robert H. Smith Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment, Hebrew University of Jerusalem (HUJI), Rehovot - Israel; I am hosted by Prof. Efrat Monsonego-Ornan at the Institute of Biochemistry, Food Science and Nutrition.
