Title: Transformation of municipal solid waste into a sustainable resource for pavement construction
The project seeks to blend agricultural and plastic waste to form a water-resistant bituminous surface for pavement construction including roads, playgrounds, markets, and bus terminals. This is to reduce the huge amount of waste generated in the country and also to reduce the amount of dust and its associated problems emanating from the untarred pavement in the country. There is an opportunity to reduce the cost of pavement construction as well as increasing the durability of this constructed pavement using this composition. One of the culminating effects of this project is the creation of jobs to reduce the high unemployment rate in Ghana.
