About me

Dr. Amna Syeda is a plant–soil ecologist and metabolomics researcher with a PhD in Plant Biotechnology and postdoctoral experience at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, USA. Her work focuses on improving nutrient use efficiency and stress resilience in crops through multi-omics, high-throughput mass spectrometry, and isotope tracing. She has published 17+ research articles with over 130 citations, received awards including the Young Researcher Award and Best Paper Award, and is a Full Member of OWSD. In addition to her research, she serves as an Academic Editor, reviewing scientific manuscripts for clarity and quality.

Dr. Amna Syeda is a plant–soil ecologist and metabolomics researcher with expertise in plant stress biology, nutrient cycling, and high-throughput analytical chemistry. She earned her PhD in Plant Biotechnology from Jamia Millia Islamia, India, where she investigated abiotic stress responses using proteomics and metabolomics approaches. She later worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (USA), leading projects on nitrogen use efficiency in bioenergy crops through large-scale plant–soil trials, isotope tracing, and mass spectrometry workflows.
Her research integrates LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, ICP-OES, and isotope tracing (¹⁵N) to understand plant–microbe–soil interactions and improve sustainable agriculture. She has published 17 peer-reviewed research articles, authored book chapters, and presented at international conferences, with over 130 citations.
Beyond research, Dr. Syeda is an Academic Editor with Cactus Communications, where she edits biomedical and agricultural manuscripts for international journals, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance with publication standards. She also serves as a peer reviewer for Springer Nature journals.
Her contributions have been recognized with multiple awards, including the Young Researcher Award (2021), Best Paper Award, and full membership in the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD). She is passionate about advancing climate-resilient agriculture by bridging multi-omics insights with sustainable crop improvement strategies.
